Within DAMEN, the Short Sea and Inland Cargo Vessels Division offers a wide range of vessels, tailor-made to the unique demands of the market for Short Sea and Inland navigation.
These modern inland cargo vessels and coasters are fully equipped to meet the requirements of an efficiency based economy and have been adapted to current innovations. With a view to such modern issues as Modal Shift and Door-to-Door transportation, the vessels have been adapted to meet present demands. They are faster, more economical in operation and have optimal carrying and multi-role designs.
The Division's product range includes vessels such as the Combi Freighters and Combi Coasters, designed for short sea and sea-river transport and with capacities from 1,700 to 5,000 tons. In the inland vessel range, designs vary from 67-metre pallet carriers to 135-metre dry cargo and product tankers. This range of standardised designs - which are noted for their fuel economy, speed, displacement and comfort - is offered to and operated by private owners as well as shipping companies.
