The construction of our Naval Vessels is located at Royal Schelde. With over 125 years of experience working on different types of military ships, Royal Schelde makes an imposing statement. Over the last 30 years, our Naval Vessels Division has focussed in particular on surface combatants and different types of auxiliaries including AORs, Logistic Platform Docks and Amphibious Transport Ships, as well as hydrographic research vessels and large-scale conversions. Since the mid 1950s, seven new generations of frigates have been built for the Royal Netherlands Navy.
The product portfolio of the Naval Vessel Division can be divided into two product families:
The Enforcer series of Landing Platform Docks and Landing Platform Helicopters is a gamut of vessels based on standard modules and designed for out-of-area operations, providing sea lift, amphibious support, disaster relief and command functions. The modular concept is carried through most innovatively in our series of Sigma corvettes, where Sigma stands for Ship Integrated Geometrical Modularity Approach.
The Naval Patrol series is a range of offshore patrol vessels and corvettes ranging from 55 to 100 metres, all based on the same principle of integrated geometric modularity, with functionalities ranging from economic patrolling to full-scale combat capability.
The Naval Vessel division maintains a large and versatile engineering department and a modern production site in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. A Service Support Department is in place for our customers, from where a number of activities are co-ordinated, including Integrated Logistic Support and after sales support such as the supply of spare parts and training.
