Since the mid 1950 Royal Schelde has built seven new generations of frigates for the Royal Netherlands Navy. Royal Schelde is presentely a member of the Damen Shipyards Group. All the frigates have frequently participated in NATO missions around the world. The frigates can be distinguished into the standard S-frigates, the multipurpose M-frigates and the L- and LCF-frigates for air defence and command. The youngest generation of frigates is characterised by the application of STEALTH technology, which makes them difficult to detect.
The Naval Vessel division maintains a large and versatile engineering department and a modern production site in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. A Service Support Department is in place for our customers, from where a number of activities are co-ordinated, including Integrated Logistic Support and after sales support such as the supply of spare parts and training.
