The Zeven Provinciën is a first class air defence and command frigate. It is a new anti-air warfare platform able to provide area air defence for deployed, collective security and peacekeeping operations. The design incorporates stealth technology, theatre missile defence, as well as advanced radars. It has a sophisticated command and control capability to serve units as a task group command ship.
